Celtics Push Back on Giannis Bucks
Boston Wins 139-118 on Christmas Day
Tatum's 41 Points Lead the Way
The Boston Celtics sent a resounding message to the Milwaukee Bucks on Christmas Day, dominating them 139-118 in a highly anticipated Eastern Conference semifinal showdown. Jayson Tatum led the way for Boston with 41 points, while Giannis Antetokounmpo's 33 points were not enough to keep the Bucks in contention.
The Celtics came out firing, hitting eight three-pointers in the first quarter alone. They led by as many as 25 points in the first half and never looked back. Tatum was unstoppable, shooting 13-of-21 from the field and 7-of-12 from three-point range.
The Bucks struggled to keep up with the Celtics' hot shooting and could not find a consistent rhythm on offense. Antetokounmpo was held to just 10 points in the first half and finished the game shooting 12-of-27.
The Celtics' victory gives them a 1-0 lead in the best-of-seven series. Game 2 will be played in Milwaukee on Tuesday night.
