Celtics Crush 76ers, Advance to Eastern Conference Finals
Boston uses big run to secure Game 7 victory
Jayson Tatum leads the way with 28 points
After a back-and-forth Eastern Conference Semifinals series that saw the Celtics and 76ers trade blows for six games, Boston finally used a major run to get past Philadelphia and advance to the Eastern Conference Finals.
Jayson Tatum led the way for Boston in Game 7, scoring 28 points and adding 10 rebounds and 6 assists. The Celtics also got strong performances from Jaylen Brown (24 points) and Marcus Smart (20 points).
The 76ers were led by Joel Embiid, who finished with 27 points and 14 rebounds. However, Embiid was limited by foul trouble throughout the game and was forced to sit out key stretches.
The Celtics used a 19-4 run in the third quarter to take control of the game. Boston's defense was also stingy, holding the 76ers to just 35.6% shooting from the field.
The Celtics will now face the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals. The Heat are the top seed in the Eastern Conference and have been one of the most impressive teams in the NBA this season.
The Celtics will need to play their best basketball to beat the Heat. However, if they can continue to get strong performances from Tatum, Brown, and Smart, they have a good chance of reaching the NBA Finals.
