Basement duel in the 2nd Bundesliga: Hansa Rostock remains winless
Hansa Rostock did not manage to end their negative run in the 2nd Bundesliga on Sunday. Against SV Waldhof Mannheim, who were also threatened by relegation, there was a 1-1 (0-1) draw at the Ostseestadion. John Verhoek (29th) gave the guests the lead, Kevin Schumacher (61st) equalized for Rostock.
After the eighth game without a win, Hansa is now in 17th place in the table with seven points, Mannheim is 16th with eight points. Rostock has not won a competitive game since the 2-1 away win at SV Sandhausen on matchday 2.
In front of 10,632 spectators in Rostock, Hansa started courageously, but then lost the thread more and more and allowed Mannheim to take the lead. After a cross from the right by Adrien Lebeau, Verhoek headed in from close range to make it 1-0 for the guests.
After the break, Rostock initially lacked ideas in attack. Only after an hour did Schumacher score the equalizer with a low shot from around 20 meters. In the final phase, both teams had chances to win, but they missed them.
